In their words

Rachel Walker MD: Plastic Surgery Center of DallasLiposuction is for body contouring, not weight loss. Ideal candidates are generally individuals who are close to their goal weight but with localized fat deposits that are difficult to eliminate.
Rod J. Rohrich, M.D.This 49-year old woman had circumferential lipocontouring using a combination of ultrasound and traditional liposuction.
Dr. Sam Jejurikar, M.D.Chin Liposuction is similar to other types of liposuction, except a micro-cannula is used rather than a full-sized cannula, and removes only small amounts of fat. The procedure lasts about 45-60 minutes under local anesthesia or light sedation.
Dauwe Plastic SurgeryLiposuction surgery only corrects excess fat. For loose skin, Dr. Dauwe may recommend combining liposuction with a lift surgery. Lipo is often done along with skin tightening surgery, like a tummy tuck , thighplasty, or arm lift to give you your best results.
Dr. Nicholas HaddockOne of the attractive features of liposuction is that very small incisions are needed for each area treated. These typically measure one-quarter inch in length and frequently can be concealed in natural body creases.

Rachel Walker MD: Plastic Surgery Center of DallasSAFELipo is an advanced liposuction technique that improves traditional liposuction by enhancing precision and helping create smoother, more natural-looking contours.
Rod J. Rohrich, M.D.Using a single incision in the inframammary fold, Dr. Rohrich was able to treat this patient using only ultrasound assisted liposuction.
Dr. Sam Jejurikar, M.D.A Tummy Tuck takes approximately 2-3 hours and is performed under general anesthesia. It is commonly combined with liposuction of the love handles, upper abdomen and thighs.
Dauwe Plastic SurgeryDr. Dauwe places small incisions (2-millimeters) in areas easy to hide with underwear. Liposuction scars are small and nearly imperceptible, but we will apply our laser scar management protocol to keep your scars as discreet as possible.
Khan Plastic SurgeryTypically, male breast reduction surgery involves both liposuction and direct excision. Small incisions are made underneath the breast and/or within the borders of the areola.
Dr. Raja Mohan Plastic SurgeryIt is commonly employed in conjunction with other procedures, enabling Dr. Raj to deliver better outcomes from combined procedures, such as when breast augmentation is supplemented with armpit liposuction to create a trimmer profile.Love Handle Liposuction : The love handles, or the localized fat extending above the hips, are notoriously resistant to diet and exercise.

FAQ

Liposuction in Dallas: common questions

How much does Liposuction cost in Dallas?

Liposuction generally runs $3,500–$11,000 per treatment area, and each Dallas clinic sets its own price. The biggest variables are the provider's experience level and the specific device or product used. Newer technology and senior injectors price at the upper end. Pricing is quoted in US dollars (USD). Request a consultation from any of our listed Dallas clinics for a personalized quote.

How often should I get Liposuction?

Maintenance schedules vary. Most Dallas providers recommend periodic refresh sessions every 6–12 months once optimal results are achieved.

Can I wear makeup after Liposuction?

Most patients wait 24 hours before applying makeup to avoid irritation on freshly-treated skin.

How much does liposuction cost?

Pricing works per treatment area, and most patients treat more than one. A single small area such as the chin or upper arms typically runs $3,500 to $6,000. Larger areas like the abdomen or flanks run $5,000 to $11,000. Treating several areas together costs less per area than doing them separately because anesthesia and facility time are shared. Always confirm whether a quote includes anesthesia, the facility, compression garments, and follow-up visits, because exclusions are where quotes diverge.

Is liposuction a weight-loss procedure?

No, and this is the single most important misunderstanding about it. Surgeons typically remove a limited volume of fat for safety reasons, which is a few pounds rather than a dress size of body weight. Liposuction reshapes contour in people already near their target weight. If your goal is significant weight loss, medical weight management or bariatric surgery is the appropriate path, and liposuction afterward can address what remains.

Will the fat come back?

The fat cells removed are gone permanently and do not regenerate. However, the fat cells remaining elsewhere in your body can still enlarge if you gain weight, which means the shape you gain into may be different from before. Patients who maintain a stable weight keep their result essentially indefinitely.

How is it different from CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting freezes fat cells non-invasively and eliminates roughly 20 to 25 percent of the fat in a treated area per session, with no downtime, over two to three months. Liposuction physically removes a far greater proportion in one operation, with anesthesia, incisions, and real recovery. If your pocket is small and you want to avoid surgery, CoolSculpting is reasonable. If you want a decisive change to contour, liposuction is what actually delivers it.

What about loose skin afterward?

This is the question that determines whether liposuction alone is right for you. Liposuction removes fat but does not tighten skin. In patients with good elasticity the skin retracts well. In patients with significant laxity, particularly after major weight loss or pregnancy, removing the underlying fat can leave the skin looser than before. Those patients often need a skin-removal procedure such as a tummy tuck instead of, or alongside, liposuction. An honest surgeon will tell you this at consultation.
