A radiofrequency microneedling treatment that remodels deep skin layers to tighten, smooth texture, and reduce wrinkles, acne scars, and sagging.
Also called med spa facials
A professional skin treatment, cleansing, exfoliation, extractions, a mask or serum and often a device step, done by a licensed esthetician in a medical setting with access to stronger actives and a clinician down the hall. The most booked service on any med spa menu and the one with the most variation in what you actually get.
A collagen-stimulating injectable that gradually restores facial volume over months, delivering subtle, natural-looking results that can last 2+ years.
Botox injected into the jaw muscles to slim a square jawline, relieve teeth grinding, and ease TMJ-related tension. One treatment, cosmetic and functional benefits.
A controlled chemical exfoliation that removes damaged outer skin layers, revealing brighter, smoother, more even skin and improving fine lines, sun damage, acne, and hyperpigmentation.
Picosecond and Q-switched lasers that shatter tattoo ink into particles your body clears naturally, the only proven path to removing or meaningfully fading unwanted tattoos.
An FDA-approved injectable that permanently destroys fat cells under the chin to reduce a double chin without surgery.
Intravenous infusions of vitamins, minerals, hydration, glutathione, and specialty compounds like NAD+ delivered directly into the bloodstream for energy, recovery, immune support, and anti-aging.
A non-surgical fat-reduction treatment that freezes and permanently eliminates stubborn fat cells in areas like the abdomen, flanks, and chin.
Injectable gels (usually hyaluronic acid) that restore lost volume and definition to the cheeks, jawline, smile lines, and under-eye area for a refreshed, lifted look.
A non-invasive treatment that builds muscle and burns fat at the same time using high-intensity electromagnetic energy combined with radiofrequency heating.
A two-step treatment combining microneedling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) drawn from your own blood, supercharging collagen production to improve acne scars, fine lines, texture, and tone.
Energy-based and injectable treatments that smooth cellulite dimpling by remodeling the fibrous bands and skin structure that cause it. Realistic improvement, not airbrushing.
Non-surgical hair loss treatments combining PRP injections, prescription medications, microneedling, and red light therapy to slow hair loss and stimulate measurable regrowth in early-to-moderate pattern hair loss.
A fast-acting botulinum toxin injectable that smooths frown lines and forehead wrinkles. Botox's biggest competitor, preferred by many for larger areas.
Non-surgical ultrasound and energy treatments like Ultherapy and Sofwave that lift and firm sagging skin on the face, neck, and brow by stimulating deep collagen.
A few units of Botox along the upper lip line that relax the muscle and roll the lip subtly outward. Fuller-looking lips with no filler.
A minimally-invasive lift treatment that uses dissolvable threads to instantly lift sagging skin and stimulate collagen for natural-looking results lasting 12–18 months.
A laser treatment that removes or heats damaged skin layers to smooth wrinkles, fade sun damage and scars, and reveal fresher, more even-toned skin.
Hyaluronic acid filler placed in the tear trough to smooth under-eye hollows and soften dark circles caused by volume loss, a precision treatment for tired-looking eyes.
An intense pulsed light treatment that targets sun damage, redness, brown spots, and uneven tone to reveal clearer, more even-toned skin with minimal downtime.
Structural hyaluronic acid filler that restores or enhances cheekbone projection, lifting the midface, sharpening light reflection, and indirectly softening under-eye hollows and nasolabial folds.
Structural filler along the jawline and chin that sharpens definition, balances profiles, and strengthens weak chins, the non-surgical answer to a soft lower face.
The gold-standard focused ultrasound treatment that lifts and tightens skin on the face, neck, and brow by rebuilding collagen at the foundational layer. No needles, no downtime.
A gentle exfoliation treatment using a sterile surgical blade to remove dead skin cells and peach fuzz. Instantly smoother, brighter skin and flawless makeup application.
Low-level red and near-infrared light that energizes cellular repair, used for skin rejuvenation, collagen support, inflammation, and recovery, with zero downtime or discomfort.
Weekly dual-action (GLP-1 + GIP) injection averaging ~20% body weight loss in trials, the strongest results of any weight-loss medication, and the winner of the first head-to-head trial against semaglutide.
Semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing that builds natural-looking eyebrows (hair-stroke microblading, soft powder brows, or machine nano strokes) lasting 1–2 years.
Weekly GLP-1 injection (the active drug in Wegovy and Ozempic) averaging ~15% body weight loss in clinical trials, the medication that started the medical weight-loss boom.
Sclerotherapy injections and vascular lasers that collapse unwanted spider veins on the legs and face, the two proven methods for clearing visible vessels.
Also called skin tag removal
In-clinic removal of skin tags, benign moles, milia, seborrheic keratoses, and cherry angiomas by snip, freeze, cautery, or laser, usually in minutes, after a check that the growth is what it looks like.
A mechanical exfoliation that buffs away the dead outer layer of skin with a diamond tip or fine crystals, leaving skin smoother and brighter the same day, with no downtime and results that build over a series.
The only hair removal method approved as permanent. A fine probe delivers a current into each follicle to destroy it, one hair at a time, which makes it slow, but it works on every hair color and skin tone, including the blonde, grey, and red hair lasers cannot see.
A neuromodulator in the same class as Botox, purified to contain only the active toxin with no accessory proteins, which is why it is nicknamed the naked Botox. Same uses, similar dosing and duration, and the usual choice for people who have developed resistance to other brands.
The newest neuromodulator, formulated with a peptide instead of animal-derived proteins and approved on trials showing results lasting around six months for many patients, roughly twice the typical Botox interval. Fewer appointments per year at a higher price per treatment.
A neuromodulator approved specifically for cosmetic use and marketed as the modern alternative to Botox, with comparable results and dosing and often a lower price. Same class, same uses, same three to four month interval.
A calcium-based filler that provides immediate structure and then stimulates your own collagen as it dissolves, used for the jawline, chin, cheeks, and the backs of the hands, and in diluted form for crepey skin on the body. Firmer than hyaluronic acid fillers and not reversible.
The first injectable approved in the US to improve skin quality rather than add volume. Micro-droplets of hyaluronic acid placed across the cheeks hydrate the skin from within for about six months, improving smoothness and glow without changing the shape of the face.
Filler placed on the chin to project a recessed chin, lengthen a short one, or balance a profile, in one fifteen-minute treatment lasting a year or more. One of the most face-changing filler treatments for the amount used, and the non-surgical alternative to a chin implant.
Botox injected into the trapezius muscles on either side of the neck, which relaxes chronic shoulder tension and, over a few months, slims a thick or rounded shoulder line. One treatment addresses both the tension and the look.
A gentle, rhythmic massage that moves fluid through the lymphatic system to reduce swelling. Its clearest use is after liposuction, a tummy tuck, or a BBL, where it speeds recovery and smooths the result; it is also booked for puffiness and as a wellness treatment.
Quick intramuscular shots of vitamin B12, lipotropic compounds, or vitamin blends, sold at med spas for energy, metabolism, and weight loss support. B12 helps people who are actually low in it; the rest is modest, and the shots are a supplement to a weight program, not a program.
A device that combines radio-frequency heating with electrical stimulation of the facial muscles, lifting and toning the face without needles over a series of four twenty-minute sessions. Modest, natural lift for people who want improvement without injectables or downtime.
Non-surgical treatments for laxity, dryness, and mild urinary leakage after childbirth or menopause, using laser or radio-frequency energy inside the vaginal canal or an electromagnetic chair that contracts the pelvic floor. Evidence is stronger for the pelvic floor chair than for the energy devices, and a clinic should say so.
Prescription injectable peptides, usually growth-hormone-releasing peptides like sermorelin, sold by med spas and wellness clinics for energy, recovery, body composition and sleep. Some are legal, prescribable drugs; many of the most-marketed ones are not, and the difference is the whole decision.
Also called trt
Prescription testosterone (injections, gels, or pellets) for men with symptoms and confirmed low testosterone on two morning blood tests. Med spas and men's health clinics run monitored programs; the labs, the diagnosis and the follow-up are what separate medicine from a subscription.
Also called hrt
Prescription estrogen, progesterone and sometimes testosterone for perimenopause and menopause symptoms, offered at med spas as FDA-approved patches and gels or as compounded "bioidentical" creams and pellets. The FDA lifted its main warnings in 2025 and 2026; the compounded versions are the part to question.
Microneedling that delivers radiofrequency heat through the needle tips into the dermis, so one treatment resurfaces texture and acne scars while tightening mild laxity. Morpheus8 is the best-known brand; Vivace, Potenza, Secret RF, Virtue RF, Genius and Sylfirm X are the same device class.
Also called liquid rhinoplasty
Hyaluronic acid filler placed along the bridge or tip to smooth a hump, lift a drooping tip or straighten a mild asymmetry in fifteen minutes, lasting 9 to 18 months. It is an off-label use the FDA recommends against because the nose is the highest-risk site on the face for filler entering an artery, so the injector matters more here than for any other filler.
Also called salmon dna skin booster
A skin booster made from purified DNA fragments, usually from salmon, injected in tiny droplets under the skin of the face, under-eyes or neck to improve texture, elasticity and fine lines over a course of two to four sessions. Widely used in Korea and Europe; no injectable version is FDA-approved in the United States, and the evidence, while promising, is small.
Performed by plastic surgeons. Bigger changes, real recovery time, and results measured in years. See our plastic surgeon directory and how to choose a surgeon.
Also called eyelid surgery
Surgery that removes or repositions excess skin and fat around the eyes, addressing hooded upper lids and under-eye bags that no injectable can fix.
Also called nose job
Surgery that reshapes the nose, and the most technically demanding operation in facial plastic surgery, where surgeon selection matters more than in any other procedure.
Also called breast implants
Surgery that increases breast size using implants or fat transfer, and the most commonly performed cosmetic operation in the United States.
Surgical removal of localized fat deposits through small incisions, the definitive option for pockets that resist diet and exercise.
Surgery that removes excess abdominal skin and repairs separated abdominal muscles, addressing what no amount of exercise can fix after pregnancy or major weight loss.
Surgery that repositions the deeper facial tissues and removes excess skin, addressing jowls and midface descent that no injectable or device can lift.
Liposuction of the abdomen, flanks, or thighs with transfer of that fat to the buttocks, and the cosmetic operation that demands the most careful surgeon selection of any procedure we list.
Also called mastopexy
Surgery that raises and reshapes sagging breasts by removing excess skin and repositioning the nipple, without changing size the way implants do.
Surgery that removes breast tissue, fat, and skin to reduce size and relieve the neck, back, and shoulder pain that large breasts cause, and one of the few cosmetic operations insurance sometimes covers.
A combination of procedures performed in one operation to address the abdominal and breast changes that follow pregnancy, most commonly a tummy tuck with a breast lift or augmentation.
A short procedure that removes the buccal fat pad from the lower cheek to create a more sculpted, hollowed look, and the operation most likely to be regretted if done at the wrong age.
Also called ear pinning
Surgery that reshapes or repositions prominent ears closer to the head, commonly performed on children but equally effective in adults.
Surgery that reduces or reshapes the labia minora, most often sought for physical discomfort during exercise, sex, or with clothing rather than appearance alone.
Also called platysmaplasty
Surgery that tightens the neck muscles, removes loose skin, and sharpens the angle under the chin, the region where aging often shows first and devices help least.
Also called forehead lift
Surgery that raises a descended brow to its natural position, opening the upper eye area and softening the tired or stern look that heavy brows create.
Also called male breast reduction
Surgery that removes glandular tissue and fat to flatten the male chest, the definitive fix for a condition that diet and training often cannot touch.
Surgery that relocates your own permanent hair follicles to thinning areas, the only treatment that puts living, growing hair back where it has been lost.
A procedure that takes fat from your own body, purifies it, and injects it into the face to restore lost volume in the cheeks, temples, under the eyes, and lips. Permanent for the fat that survives, natural because it is your own tissue, and often done alongside a facelift.
Surgery that removes the loose, hanging skin on the upper arm that follows major weight loss or aging, usually with liposuction of any remaining fat, through an incision along the inner arm. The only fix for skin that hangs; the trade is a scar most people consider worth it.
Surgery that removes loose, sagging skin from the inner or outer thigh, most often after major weight loss, restoring a firm contour. An inner thigh lift hides its incision in the groin crease; a more extensive lift extends down the inner thigh. The only fix for thigh skin that hangs.
A single operation that removes loose skin around the entire lower body, the abdomen, hips, outer thighs, and buttocks, through an incision that circles the waist like a belt. The definitive contouring procedure after massive weight loss, with a recovery to match.
A short surgery that removes a strip of skin just under the nose to shorten the space between nose and lip, rolling the upper lip outward so more pink lip shows and the mouth looks fuller and younger at rest. Permanent, and the fix for a long upper lip that filler makes worse.
A quick in-office procedure that repairs an earlobe torn by an earring, closes a stretched piercing or a gauge, or reduces an earlobe that has lengthened with age. Local anesthesia, about thirty minutes per ear, and the lobe can be re-pierced after it heals.
Liposuction of the whole midsection in one operation, abdomen, flanks, waist and back treated as a single shape rather than separate zones, often with high-definition sculpting of the abdominal lines. The most searched liposuction procedure in the US, and the one where volume, BMI and skin quality decide the result.
Surgical removal of the pannus, the apron of skin and fat that hangs over the pubic area after major weight loss or pregnancy, without the muscle repair or navel repositioning of a tummy tuck. Often a medical rather than cosmetic operation, and the one abdominal surgery insurance may cover when rashes, infections and mobility problems are documented.
Also called explant
Surgery to take out breast implants, with or without the scar capsule around them, and with or without a lift or replacement. Done for rupture, capsular contracture, a change of mind, the rare implant-associated lymphoma, or the systemic symptoms some women report; what the evidence says about each reason is different, and this page separates them.
Also called submental liposuction
A short procedure, usually under local anesthesia, that removes the fat under the chin and along the jawline through incisions a few millimetres long, defining the jaw in one session with results that are permanent at a stable weight. The right choice when the problem is fat and the skin is firm; a neck lift when it is loose skin or muscle bands.
Also called chin augmentation
Surgery that projects a recessed chin either by placing a shaped silicone implant on the bone or by cutting and sliding the chin bone forward (genioplasty), permanently balancing the profile with the nose and neck. The two methods suit different chins and carry different risks, and this page separates them.
Also called secondary rhinoplasty
Surgery to correct the result of a previous rhinoplasty, whether the problem is appearance (a pinched tip, a collapsed or over-resected bridge, asymmetry) or breathing. Harder than the first operation because of scar tissue and missing cartilage, usually needing grafts from the ear or rib, and best done by a surgeon who does it routinely, at least a year after the original.
Also called scar revision surgery
Surgery and in-office treatments that make a scar less visible: excision and layered re-closure for wide or raised scars, Z-plasty or W-plasty to redirect a scar into natural lines or release a tight one, steroid injections for raised scars, and filler, laser or dermabrasion for surface problems. A scar cannot be erased, and the plan depends on which kind of scar it is.
Also called natural breast augmentation
Breast augmentation with your own fat: liposuction takes it from the abdomen, flanks or thighs, it is purified, and it is injected into the breasts in layers for a modest, natural increase of about a cup size with no implant. Some of the fat is reabsorbed, so surgeons overfill, and the result depends on having enough fat to give.
