A breast lift involves Dr. Toy making one of three common incisions, then lifting and reshaping the breast tissue, repositioning the areola and nipple into a higher spot on the breast, and tightening the skin and eliminating any excess.
Mastopexy (breast lift) and mastopexy in combination with breast augmentation are options for women who have lost that youthful breast position and fullness.
Mommy Makeover may include Breast Augmentation, Breast Lift, Tummy Tuck and Liposuction. These are some of the safe surgical procedures which can be performed to help mothers regain their pre-pregnancy bodies.
It is also possible to have a breast lift with implants. An implant will add volume to the breast and give the breast a "perkier" shape.
During a breast lift, sometimes the areola -the dark area around the nipple- may be reduced if necessary. Breast lifting alone does not change the actual volume of the breasts.

Breast Lift generally runs CAD$9,520–CAD$19,040 per procedure, and each Edmonton clinic sets its own price. Initial results in 2–4 weeks, with full results developing over 3 months as collagen builds. Edmonton providers typically schedule follow-ups to track progress.
Maintenance schedules vary. Most Edmonton providers recommend periodic refresh sessions every 6–12 months once optimal results are achieved.
The simplest test is where your nipple sits relative to the fold beneath your breast. If it sits at or below that fold, a lift is what repositions it, and implants alone will not fix that. If your breasts sit high enough but have lost fullness at the top, implants restore that volume. Many patients want both, which is a combined augmentation with mastopexy, a longer operation with a slightly higher revision rate but a single recovery.
Scars depend on how much lifting is needed. A minor lift may need only a scar around the areola. Moderate lifting adds a vertical line from the areola to the fold, called a lollipop. Significant lifting adds a horizontal scar along the fold, called an anchor. Scars are permanent, red for several months, and typically fade to pale lines over one to two years. Any surgeon offering a significant lift with no scars is describing something else.
Most patients hold results for ten years or more, but skin continues aging and gravity does not stop. Weight fluctuation and subsequent pregnancy are the two things that most reliably undo a lift, which is why surgeons generally advise finishing childbearing first. Wearing good support and maintaining stable weight extends the result meaningfully.
Many patients can, though a lift carries somewhat more risk to milk ducts and nipple sensation than augmentation does, because the nipple is repositioned. If future breastfeeding matters to you, say so clearly at consultation, since technique choices can preserve more of the ductal system. And if you plan to have children soon, waiting is generally the better decision anyway.
Almost never as a cosmetic lift. Breast reduction, which removes tissue as well as lifting, is sometimes covered when documented neck, back, or shoulder symptoms meet a carrier's criteria. If you have both sagging and significant volume causing physical symptoms, ask the surgeon's office to explore reduction coverage rather than assuming the whole thing is out of pocket.
