People whose breasts have descended after pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight loss, and who are happy with their volume but not their position

In their words

Plastic Surgery Specialists of New Jersey: Frank J. Ferraro, MDThe incisions involved in breast reduction mirror those in a breast lift , since the goals of the two procedures are very similar. The incision is an anchor style and uniformly follows a distinct shape and predictably good healing.
Spiro Plastic Surgery: Scott A. Spiro, MD, FACSA breast lift with implants is a procedure that combines a breast lift (mastopexy, and possibly reduction) with a breast implant augmentation.
Palisade Plastic Surgery Associates, P.C.a breast lift alone does not significantly change the size or fullness of the breasts. If you desire both a lift and an increase in breast size, a breast lift can be combined with breast augmentation using implants
Aydin Center For Plastic SurgeryA breast lift does not significantly change breast volume, though it can be combined with augmentation or reduction for patients seeking additional size or shape changes.
Plastic Surgery Arts of New Jersey and MedspaBreast lift surgery typically involves making incisions around the areola and down the breast to remove excess skin and reshape the breast tissue.

Spiro Plastic Surgery: Scott A. Spiro, MD, FACSPreparing for breast lift surgery with implants may include quitting smoking, adjusting your medications, getting physical and lab tests, and avoiding supplements or prescription drugs that may increase bleeding.
New Jersey Plastic SurgeryA breast lift is performed under general anesthesia and typically takes 2 to 3 hoursWith proper care, a breast lift can last for years, but natural aging and gravity will continue to affect your breasts over time.
The Plastic Surgery GroupSometimes, breast lift alone is not sufficient to restore breast volume that has been lost due to nursing, weight loss or the aging process. In this case, the plastic surgeon may recommend breast augmentation using breast implants or the patient’s own fat taken from another area of the body. There are three main incision patterns used for breast lift surgery: periareolar, vertical and inframammary.
FAQ

Breast Lift in Jersey City: common questions

How much does Breast Lift cost in Jersey City?

Breast Lift generally runs $7,000–$14,000 per procedure, and each Jersey City clinic sets its own price. The biggest variables are the provider's experience level and the specific device or product used. Newer technology and senior injectors price at the upper end. Pricing is quoted in US dollars (USD). Request a consultation from any of our listed Jersey City clinics for a personalized quote.

How long do Breast Lift results last?

Results vary by patient, but most Jersey City providers report 6–18 months of sustained benefit from a full Breast Lift series.

Can I wear makeup after Breast Lift?

Most patients wait 24 hours before applying makeup to avoid irritation on freshly-treated skin.

Do I need a lift, implants, or both?

The simplest test is where your nipple sits relative to the fold beneath your breast. If it sits at or below that fold, a lift is what repositions it, and implants alone will not fix that. If your breasts sit high enough but have lost fullness at the top, implants restore that volume. Many patients want both, which is a combined augmentation with mastopexy, a longer operation with a slightly higher revision rate but a single recovery.

What are the scars like?

Scars depend on how much lifting is needed. A minor lift may need only a scar around the areola. Moderate lifting adds a vertical line from the areola to the fold, called a lollipop. Significant lifting adds a horizontal scar along the fold, called an anchor. Scars are permanent, red for several months, and typically fade to pale lines over one to two years. Any surgeon offering a significant lift with no scars is describing something else.

How long does a lift last?

Most patients hold results for ten years or more, but skin continues aging and gravity does not stop. Weight fluctuation and subsequent pregnancy are the two things that most reliably undo a lift, which is why surgeons generally advise finishing childbearing first. Wearing good support and maintaining stable weight extends the result meaningfully.

Will I be able to breastfeed afterward?

Many patients can, though a lift carries somewhat more risk to milk ducts and nipple sensation than augmentation does, because the nipple is repositioned. If future breastfeeding matters to you, say so clearly at consultation, since technique choices can preserve more of the ductal system. And if you plan to have children soon, waiting is generally the better decision anyway.

Is it covered by insurance?

Almost never as a cosmetic lift. Breast reduction, which removes tissue as well as lifting, is sometimes covered when documented neck, back, or shoulder symptoms meet a carrier's criteria. If you have both sagging and significant volume causing physical symptoms, ask the surgeon's office to explore reduction coverage rather than assuming the whole thing is out of pocket.
