In their words

The Center for Cosmetic Surgery and The Washington Hair Institute with Dr. Steven B. HoppingRhinoplasty lasts approximately two-to-three hours, and is routinely performed as outpatient surgery under IV sedation in our AAAHC-certified operating surgical center.
Ariel N Rad, MD, PhD, FACSVery few surgeons can perform scarless rhinoplasty. However, the advantages of scarless techniques are many: aside from achieving equally excellent results, Dr. Rad’s closed technique involves no visible scar across the base of the nose, minimal invasiveness, limited swelling, and short recovery (7 days).
Congressional Plastic Surgery | Christopher C. Chang, M.D.Preservation rhinoplasty, on the other hand, is primarily performed by adjusting the existing tissue and cartilage to improve the appearance of the nose.
Davinci Plastic SurgeryIf you are unhappy with your nose, for aesthetic or functional reasons, rhinoplasty - commonly known as a "nose job" - offers a highly customized approach to achieving natural, proportionate results.
Somenek + Pittman MD - Plastic SurgeryThe typical surgical approach is an open rhinoplasty, in which Dr. Somenek surgically lifts the skin to allow for more substantial and visible cartilage and bone changes.

Congressional Plastic Surgery | Christopher C. Chang, M.D.For some patients who feel the nose is too large for the face, chin augmentation may be the correct procedure to bring about a significant enhancement, creating facial balance, possibly making a rhinoplasty procedure (nose job) unnecessary.
Somenek + Pittman MD - Plastic SurgeryWhen patients require fewer bone and cartilage alterations, a closed rhinoplasty that uses two incisions within the nostrils may be ideal.
M.R. Khalifeh, MDChin augmentation can also be performed at the time of smartlipo of the neck or a neck of facelift to make the neck more elongated when helpful. A chin implant is often performed with a rhinoplasty as well.

FAQ

Rhinoplasty in Washington: common questions

How much does Rhinoplasty cost in Washington?

Rhinoplasty generally runs $7,000–$16,000 per procedure, and each Washington clinic sets its own price. The biggest variables are the provider's experience level and the specific device or product used. Newer technology and senior injectors price at the upper end. Pricing is quoted in US dollars (USD). Request a consultation from any of our listed Washington clinics for a personalized quote.

When will I see results from Rhinoplasty?

Initial results in 2–4 weeks, with full results developing over 3 months as collagen builds. Washington providers typically schedule follow-ups to track progress.

How often should I get Rhinoplasty?

Maintenance schedules vary. Most Washington providers recommend periodic refresh sessions every 6–12 months once optimal results are achieved.

How much does a nose job cost?

Nationally, rhinoplasty typically runs $7,000 to $16,000 all in, meaning surgeon fee, anesthesia, and facility. Revision rhinoplasty costs more, often $12,000 to $25,000, because it is harder surgery. High-demand surgeons in New York, Los Angeles, and Beverly Hills routinely charge above these ranges, and waiting lists at that tier can run a year. If a quote comes in dramatically below the local market, understand exactly what is excluded before treating it as a bargain.

Will insurance pay for any of it?

Insurance may cover the functional portion when there is documented breathing obstruction, most often a deviated septum, which is repaired in an operation called a septoplasty. The cosmetic reshaping is not covered. In practice many patients have both done together and pay the cosmetic portion out of pocket while insurance contributes to the functional part. Get the surgeon's office to verify benefits in writing before surgery.

What is the difference between open and closed rhinoplasty?

Closed rhinoplasty places all incisions inside the nostrils, leaving no external scar. Open rhinoplasty adds a small incision across the columella, the strip of skin between the nostrils, which lets the surgeon lift the skin and see the structure directly. The columellar scar typically fades to near invisibility. Neither approach is universally better. Experienced surgeons choose based on what the specific nose requires, and a surgeon who only ever performs one approach is worth asking about.

How long until I look normal?

The splint comes off around day seven, and most people feel presentable at two weeks with makeup covering residual bruising. That is when you look normal to other people. The nose itself keeps refining for much longer. Roughly 80 percent of swelling resolves in the first three months, but the tip in particular can take a full year or longer to settle, and thicker skin takes longest. Judge the result at twelve months, not at two.

What about liquid rhinoplasty instead?

Filler placed along the bridge can camouflage a dorsal hump or improve a slight asymmetry, and it costs a fraction of surgery with no downtime. It has real limits. It can only add volume, never reduce size, so it cannot make a large nose smaller, and it carries a genuine vascular risk in an area with dense blood supply. It lasts 9 to 18 months. For the right narrow problem it is an excellent option, and for most people seeking rhinoplasty it is not a substitute.
