In their words
What happens during breast lift surgery? Your mastopexy surgery can be achieved through a variety of incision patterns and techniques.
A breast lift be combined and done at the same time an implant is placed, for those who desire both a lifted appearance and an increased breast volume.
A breast lift be combined and done at the same time an implant is placed, for those who desire both a lifted appearance and an increased breast volume.
Mastopexy usually takes two to three and a half hours. Techniques vary, but the most common procedure involves an anchor-shaped incision following the natural contour of the breast.
Dr. Shaw can also discuss the possibility of combining both procedures for a “breast lift with implants,” or a breast augmentation-mastopexy, in order to enhance both the size and positioning of the breasts at the same time.

it’s important to remember that mastopexy scars are extensive and permanent
If your primary goal is to address breast sag, breast lift surgery may be able to address your concerns more effectively when compared to breast augmentation.
If you have previous implants that have lost shape or volume, they can be removed during the breast lift procedure.
Beyond cosmetic improvements, a breast lift can alleviate physical discomfort, such as back pain
Breast Lift in Wichita: common questions
How much does Breast Lift cost in Wichita?
Breast Lift generally runs $7,000–$14,000 per procedure, and each Wichita clinic sets its own price. The biggest variables are the provider's experience level and the specific device or product used. Newer technology and senior injectors price at the upper end. Pricing is quoted in US dollars (USD). Request a consultation from any of our listed Wichita clinics for a personalized quote.
How long do Breast Lift results last?
Results vary by patient, but most Wichita providers report 6–18 months of sustained benefit from a full Breast Lift series.
Can I wear makeup after Breast Lift?
Most patients wait 24 hours before applying makeup to avoid irritation on freshly-treated skin.
Do I need a lift, implants, or both?
The simplest test is where your nipple sits relative to the fold beneath your breast. If it sits at or below that fold, a lift is what repositions it, and implants alone will not fix that. If your breasts sit high enough but have lost fullness at the top, implants restore that volume. Many patients want both, which is a combined augmentation with mastopexy, a longer operation with a slightly higher revision rate but a single recovery.
What are the scars like?
Scars depend on how much lifting is needed. A minor lift may need only a scar around the areola. Moderate lifting adds a vertical line from the areola to the fold, called a lollipop. Significant lifting adds a horizontal scar along the fold, called an anchor. Scars are permanent, red for several months, and typically fade to pale lines over one to two years. Any surgeon offering a significant lift with no scars is describing something else.
How long does a lift last?
Most patients hold results for ten years or more, but skin continues aging and gravity does not stop. Weight fluctuation and subsequent pregnancy are the two things that most reliably undo a lift, which is why surgeons generally advise finishing childbearing first. Wearing good support and maintaining stable weight extends the result meaningfully.
Will I be able to breastfeed afterward?
Many patients can, though a lift carries somewhat more risk to milk ducts and nipple sensation than augmentation does, because the nipple is repositioned. If future breastfeeding matters to you, say so clearly at consultation, since technique choices can preserve more of the ductal system. And if you plan to have children soon, waiting is generally the better decision anyway.
Is it covered by insurance?
Almost never as a cosmetic lift. Breast reduction, which removes tissue as well as lifting, is sometimes covered when documented neck, back, or shoulder symptoms meet a carrier's criteria. If you have both sagging and significant volume causing physical symptoms, ask the surgeon's office to explore reduction coverage rather than assuming the whole thing is out of pocket.
