- Breast reduction: anchor pattern scar most common
Scarring is a necessary trade-off for a breast reduction, and the recommended scar pattern will vary from person to person. The most common scar pattern used is the anchor pattern scar.

Breast reduction is an outpatient procedure. Local anesthetics are used during surgery to minimize the need for pain medication afterwards. Drains are sometimes used. A stabilizing bra is placed before awakening, and you will wear this 24/7 for several weeks after surgery.

Liposuction alone has a shorter recovery period compared with other procedures. After surgery, a compression garment is worn to reduce swelling, provide support, and encourage the skin to spring back.

Most tummy tucks are done as outpatient surgery, with all recovery done at home. You will wear a compression bodysuit 24/7 for the first two weeks, and will gradually wear it less and less as the weeks pass.

Regardless of its cause, gynecomastia can be treated by removal of the glandular tissue, often in combination with liposuction.
