How Much Does Microneedling Cost in 2026?

What microneedling really costs — per session, per package, and how PRP and RF versions change the price. Plus how to tell a fair quote from an overpriced one.

Microneedling is one of the most commonly quoted treatments in aesthetics and one of the most inconsistently priced, largely because three quite different treatments all get called “microneedling.” Here is how to read a quote.

Typical microneedling cost

Standard microneedling is priced per session, with packages of three as the norm:

  • Single session (face): commonly $200–$450
  • Package of 3 (face): commonly $600–$1,100
  • PRP microneedling (“vampire facial”): commonly $500–$900 per session
  • RF microneedling (Morpheus8 and similar): commonly $700–$1,500 per session
  • Add-on areas (neck, décolletage): typically $100–$250 each

Toronto and other Canadian markets run comparable numbers in CAD. Nashville, Atlanta, and Houston sit at the lower end of the US bands; San Diego and the coastal metros at the upper end.

What drives the price

  1. Which type of microneedling. Standard, PRP, and RF are three different price tiers, not three names for one treatment. Most quote confusion traces back to this.
  2. Number of areas. Face is the base. Neck, décolletage, and hands are usually priced as add-ons.
  3. Package versus single session. Series pricing is standard and materially cheaper per session.
  4. Provider type. Physician-led and nurse-injector practices price above esthetician-led studios. For standard microneedling the gap in outcome is smaller than it is for RF work, where device settings matter a great deal.
  5. What you are treating. Acne scarring generally needs more sessions than general texture and tone, so the total cost is higher even at the same per-session rate.

How to budget smartly

  • Ask which device and which type. Get “standard, PRP, or RF” answered before you compare two numbers.
  • Price the full course. Three sessions minimum for texture, more for scarring. A single-session quote is not your cost.
  • Confirm single-use cartridges. This is standard practice at reputable clinics and a fair question to ask.
  • Ask about the depth for your concern. Different depths for different goals is the mark of a provider who is customizing rather than running one setting for everyone.
  • Consider whether you actually need RF. For surface texture and tone, standard microneedling often does the job at a third of the price. RF earns its premium on laxity and deeper scarring.

Is it worth it?

Microneedling remains one of the better value treatments in aesthetics for texture, pore appearance, and mild scarring, precisely because the standard version is inexpensive relative to lasers and delivers cumulative improvement over a series. The mistake people make is buying a single session, seeing modest change, and concluding it does not work. Results build across the course.

FAQ

Common questions

How many microneedling sessions do I need?

Three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart is the standard starting course for texture and tone. Acne scarring often needs four to six. Almost every clinic prices packages, and the package is where you should be comparing.

Why does PRP microneedling cost so much more?

PRP requires drawing your blood, spinning it in a centrifuge, and applying the concentrated plasma during the treatment. That is extra time, extra materials, and extra clinical handling, which typically adds $200 to $400 per session.

Is RF microneedling the same thing?

No. RF microneedling devices like Morpheus8 add radiofrequency energy to remodel deeper tissue, which is why they cost two to three times more per session than standard microneedling. If a quote seems unusually high, check whether it is actually an RF device.

Is cheap microneedling a red flag?

Be cautious below the market band. Proper microneedling requires sterile single-use cartridges, appropriate depth settings for the area, and a trained provider. Very low pricing sometimes means shallower settings that produce little result, or a device and protocol you would not choose if you knew the details.
