Southern Alberta’s aesthetic clinics split between downtown and the south side. Four are within three blocks of each other in the core: Luna Rx Beauty and The Skin Club on 4th Avenue South, Re-Zen Medical Esthetics on 5th Street South and Bella Skin and Laser Spa on 7th Street South. The two biggest books are in South Lethbridge, Modern Aesthetics YQL on Fairway Street, 307 reviews at 4.9, and Lethbridge Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics on 32nd Street, 248 at 4.9, the practice of Matthew Secretan, MD, FRCSC. Alis Skin + Laser, now part of the Modern Aesthetics group, keeps its own door on W.T. Hill Boulevard, and Glow Medical Aesthetics is the one listing across the river in West Lethbridge, on Highlands Boulevard.

Botox is on all eight menus and dermal fillers and lip filler on seven; Re-Zen is the skin-only exception. Beyond that the injectable shelf is short. The plastic surgery practice is the one Dysport listing, Glow the one Radiesse listing, and Kybella is at those two only. No tracked menu lists Xeomin, Sculptra or PDO threads, so a patient set on one of those is looking at Calgary, two hours north.

Lasers are the stronger half, as the clinic names suggest. Laser hair removal reaches seven menus, RF microneedling six, BBL photofacial and laser skin resurfacing six each, Morpheus8 five. The Skin Club runs an Aerolase NeoElite and is the only studio here built around a single laser. Laser tattoo removal and spider vein treatment are both at the plastic surgery practice and Re-Zen, skin tag and mole removal at Modern Aesthetics and the surgeons. No tracked clinic lists CoolSculpting, Emsculpt or medical weight loss.

Botox quotes CA$9 to 11 per unit against CA$10 to 13 in Calgary, filler CA$600 to 750 per syringe, and six sessions of laser hair removal CA$600 to 950 for a mid-sized area. The savings are modest, but the alternative is a four-hour round trip on Highway 2.

Five of the eight open Saturdays: Glow 8:30 to 8 and again Sundays, The Skin Club and Re-Zen 10 to 5, Alis 10 to 4, Bella 9 to 3. Glow also runs to 8 on weeknights, The Skin Club to 8, Alis and Bella to 7. Modern Aesthetics and the plastic surgery practice are weekdays only, Modern from 10. Re-Zen closes Mondays. The draw is the whole southwest corner of the province, Coaldale, Taber, Picture Butte, Fort Macleod, Pincher Creek, Cardston, Raymond and Magrath, and a share of Medicine Hat, which has no comparable menu. Laser series start when the Whoop-Up Days crowds leave in late August and run through the chinook winter; injectables peak before the June wedding weekends in the coulees.

The eight average 4.94 across 922 reviews, with Luna Rx, Bella and The Skin Club at a flat 5.0 on small books. Lethbridge Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics is the one surgeon-led listing and the only place a surgical question and an injectable question get the same answer in one room. At the studios, ask who supervises the laser and whether a nurse injects. Select two or three clinics below and ClinicCompass passes your consultation request to each.

FAQ

Common questions about med spas in Lethbridge

Is going to a med spa safe?

Yes, when you pick the right one. Med spas with physician oversight (an MD or DO medical director) and treatments performed by licensed RNs, NPs, PAs, or physicians have a strong safety record. The biggest safety risks come from undertrained operators using aggressive settings, off-brand products, or skipping proper screening. In Lethbridge, all clinics listed on ClinicCompass include verified Google ratings. Read the review themes (look for consistent mentions of cleanliness, professionalism, and clear communication) before booking.

What should I expect at my first med spa appointment?

Most first visits start with a 20–45 minute consultation (no actual treatment yet). The provider will ask about your goals, medical history, medications, and budget; they'll examine the relevant area and recommend specific treatments. You should leave with a written plan, clear pricing, and realistic expectations of results. If you feel rushed, pressured to commit on the spot, or upsold on treatments you didn't ask about, that's a red flag. Walk away and consult elsewhere.

How do I know if a med spa is using real products?

Three checks: (1) Real Allergan, Galderma, AbbVie, or Revance products come in branded packaging. Your provider should be willing to show you the vial or box before injecting. (2) Pricing well below market is the biggest red flag: counterfeit or smuggled product is dramatically cheaper. (3) Loyalty program enrollment (Allē for Allergan products, ASPIRE for Galderma) requires the clinic to be a verified buyer of real product. If a Lethbridge clinic offers Allē or ASPIRE rewards, it's selling authentic product.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Most patients describe it as a snapping or warm-rubber-band sensation with each pulse. Modern lasers include built-in cooling that significantly reduces discomfort, much better than older devices. Sensitive areas (bikini line, upper lip) feel more intense than larger areas (legs, back). Numbing cream is sometimes applied for sensitive zones. Most patients tolerate it without any pain management.

What questions should I ask at a med spa consultation?

Bring these: (1) What exactly will you use (specific product, device, settings)? (2) How many of these treatments have you personally done in the past year? (3) What results can I realistically expect, and what can't I expect? (4) What are the risks, and what's your plan if something goes wrong? (5) Can I see before-and-after photos of YOUR work on someone with my concern? (6) What's the total cost, all-in? (7) What happens if I'm not happy with my results? Honest providers welcome these questions; defensive ones are a red flag.

What's the difference between Botox and Dysport?

Both are botulinum toxin type A: same active mechanism, slightly different formulations. Dysport tends to onset 1–2 days faster and may spread slightly more (useful for broad areas like the forehead). Botox is more localized (useful for precise areas like around the eyes). Duration is similar (3–4 months for both). Per-unit pricing differs but the per-treatment cost is comparable. The biggest factor in your results is your injector's skill, not the brand.
