About Breast Lift

Surgery that raises and reshapes sagging breasts by removing excess skin and repositioning the nipple, without changing size the way implants do.

Sessions

One procedure, results last years but gravity and aging continue

Downtime

1 to 2 weeks off work, 6 weeks before full exercise

Good candidate

People whose breasts have descended after pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight loss, and who are happy with their volume but not their position

  • Raises the breast and repositions the nipple to a natural height
  • Removes stretched skin that a bra only temporarily conceals
  • Can be combined with implants when volume loss is also a concern
  • Improves symmetry between sides

In their words

John J. Corey, MDMini breast lift candidates typically have cases of mild breast sagging (ptosis) or more of a bottom fullness to the breast.
MD Plastic SurgeryCandidates include women who have sagging breasts due to pregnancy, weight loss, age, and genetics. A breast lift is ideal if you have ample breast tissue, but lack the shape, firmness, and/or perkiness you desire.
Weinrach Plastic Surgery ScottsdaleFurthermore, breast augmentation can be combined with a breast lift procedure to address sagging skin and rejuvenate breast firmness.
Desert Plastic SurgeryAt your initial consultation, we will review your medical history and perform a physical examination to determine if you are a good candidate for a breast lift (mastopexy).
Defyne Plastic SurgeryIf your main concern is mild deflation or mild–to–moderate sagging, and you prefer minimal recovery time, minimal or no scarring, and a more natural-looking result, the True Form Breast Lift may be ideal.

MD Plastic SurgeryA breast lift can also be combined with fat grafting or breast implants to achieve your desired results.
Weinrach Plastic Surgery ScottsdaleThere are a variety of techniques and incision types for mastopexy.
Desert Plastic SurgeryUnfortunately, there is no way to perform a breast lift (mastopexy) without scars. We will do everything possible to minimize your scars but everyone heals and scars differently.
Defyne Plastic SurgeryThe True Form Breast Lift combines advanced techniques: skin tightening via radiofrequency thermal energy and micro-coring, plus volume restoration using Enhanced Viability Fat Transfer (EVFT).
Dr. Mazaheri Plastic and Reconstructive SurgeryAs a specialist plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Mazaheri has performed thousands of procedures with over 20 years of experience. He offers breast lift surgery on an individual basis or combined with other procedures.Whether you are in need of a traditional breast lift or are looking for a lift with implants, Dr. Mazaheri will tailor the procedure to your goals and lifestyle.
Stutman Plastic SurgeryA Wise Pattern breast lift, also known as an anchor or inverted-T mastopexy, works well for patients with significant sagging or excess skin. The goals of breast lift surgery are to lift the breasts, remove excess breast skin and improve symmetry of the breasts to a more youthful position with minimally visible scarring.
Ashley L. Howarth, MD Plastic SurgeryBreast lift planning requires a clear distinction between position and volume. Dr. Howarth evaluates the skin envelope, existing tissue, nipple-areola position, asymmetry, and your priorities before recommending lift alone or another approach.A breast lift was performed to remove excess skin, reposition the nipple-areola complex, and reshape existing tissue without implants.
Elite Plastic Surgery ScottsdaleRather than increasing breast size, a breast lift focuses on restoring the natural contour of the breasts by removing excess, stretched skin and repositioning the breast tissue and nipples to a higher location on the chest.Candidates for breast lift surgery should be non-smokers in good health
Dr. Shaun Parson Plastic Surgery and Skin CenterThe mastopexy augmentation procedure allows the implant to be placed at the time of the mastopexy to make the breasts appear larger and firmerPeri-areolar Mastopexy, Vertical Mastopexy, and Standard Mastopexy
Berardi Aesthetics & Plastic SurgeryA breast reduction has much in common with a breast lift; however, it removes underlying breast tissue rather than repositioning it.Dr. Berardi can perform breast lift surgery using one of three different incision types.
Infini Phoenix LiposuctionCon: You may also need a breast lift to support the fat graft
FAQ

Breast Lift in Scottsdale: common questions

How much does Breast Lift cost in Scottsdale?

Breast Lift generally runs $7,000–$14,000 per procedure, and each Scottsdale clinic sets its own price. The biggest variables are the provider's experience level and the specific device or product used. Newer technology and senior injectors price at the upper end. Pricing is quoted in US dollars (USD). Request a consultation from any of our listed Scottsdale clinics for a personalized quote.

How often should I get Breast Lift?

Maintenance schedules vary. Most Scottsdale providers recommend periodic refresh sessions every 6–12 months once optimal results are achieved.

Can I wear makeup after Breast Lift?

Most patients wait 24 hours before applying makeup to avoid irritation on freshly-treated skin.

Do I need a lift, implants, or both?

The simplest test is where your nipple sits relative to the fold beneath your breast. If it sits at or below that fold, a lift is what repositions it, and implants alone will not fix that. If your breasts sit high enough but have lost fullness at the top, implants restore that volume. Many patients want both, which is a combined augmentation with mastopexy, a longer operation with a slightly higher revision rate but a single recovery.

What are the scars like?

Scars depend on how much lifting is needed. A minor lift may need only a scar around the areola. Moderate lifting adds a vertical line from the areola to the fold, called a lollipop. Significant lifting adds a horizontal scar along the fold, called an anchor. Scars are permanent, red for several months, and typically fade to pale lines over one to two years. Any surgeon offering a significant lift with no scars is describing something else.

How long does a lift last?

Most patients hold results for ten years or more, but skin continues aging and gravity does not stop. Weight fluctuation and subsequent pregnancy are the two things that most reliably undo a lift, which is why surgeons generally advise finishing childbearing first. Wearing good support and maintaining stable weight extends the result meaningfully.

Will I be able to breastfeed afterward?

Many patients can, though a lift carries somewhat more risk to milk ducts and nipple sensation than augmentation does, because the nipple is repositioned. If future breastfeeding matters to you, say so clearly at consultation, since technique choices can preserve more of the ductal system. And if you plan to have children soon, waiting is generally the better decision anyway.

Is it covered by insurance?

Almost never as a cosmetic lift. Breast reduction, which removes tissue as well as lifting, is sometimes covered when documented neck, back, or shoulder symptoms meet a carrier's criteria. If you have both sagging and significant volume causing physical symptoms, ask the surgeon's office to explore reduction coverage rather than assuming the whole thing is out of pocket.
