Med Spa Financing in 2026: Data From 3,777 Clinic Websites
We read 3,777 med spa websites in the US and Canada to count who advertises financing. 54% do. Cherry beats CareCredit, Canada trails the US by a wide margin, and the share swings from 0% to 93% depending on the city.
Most price guides tell you what a treatment costs. Almost nobody tells you whether the clinic will let you pay for it over time, so we counted. In September 2026 we read the websites of every med spa listed on ClinicCompass, 3,777 clinics with a reachable site, and recorded which ones advertise financing or payment plans and which lenders they name.
The headline: 2,053 of 3,777 med spas (54.4%) advertise financing. Cherry is now the most common lender by a wide margin, the two big US lenders barely exist north of the border, and whether your city’s clinics offer financing depends far more on where you live than on how good the clinic is.
The numbers at a glance
- 54.4% of med spas advertise financing or payment plans (2,053 of 3,777 clinics with a reachable website).
- Cherry appears on 39% of all med spa websites (1,470 clinics). CareCredit is on 24% (925), PatientFi on 10% (359) and Alphaeon Credit on 2% (81).
- 744 clinics (36% of those with financing) name two or more lenders, most often Cherry plus CareCredit.
- United States: 57.1%. Canada: 24.9%. Canadian clinics are less than half as likely to advertise a payment plan.
- The pricier the treatment menu, the more likely the financing. 80% of clinics offering PDO thread lifts advertise financing, against 54% of clinics offering Botox.
- Financing does not track with ratings. Clinics rated 4.9 or above advertise it at 54.4%, clinics under 4.5 at 45.8%. It tracks with size instead: 32.7% of clinics with fewer than 50 Google reviews offer it, 58.2% of clinics with 200 to 499.
How we counted
We fetched each clinic’s own website (the homepage and any page it links to about financing or payment plans) and looked for two things: a treatment lender we recognise (CareCredit, Cherry, PatientFi, Alphaeon Credit, Sunbit, United Medical Credit, Prosper Healthcare Lending, GreenSky or Scratchpay), or a plain statement such as “financing available” or “payment plans available”. A clinic counts once, whatever it lists.
Three rules kept the count honest. Affirm, Klarna and Afterpay on their own did not count, because on a med spa site they are usually the checkout for the skincare shop rather than a way to pay for treatment. A financing mention that appeared only in a blog post did not count. And 208 clinics whose sites could not be reached were left out of every percentage rather than counted as a no.
This measures what clinics advertise, not what they would arrange if you asked. Some clinics that take CareCredit never mention it online. On ClinicCompass, a clinic owner can confirm or correct their financing on their listing, and only an owner’s answer ever names a lender on our pages.
Cherry has overtaken CareCredit
CareCredit has been the default medical credit card for decades, so the lender ranking surprised us. Cherry, a point-of-sale lender founded in 2019 that markets almost entirely to aesthetic practices, now appears on 1,470 med spa websites against CareCredit’s 925. PatientFi, another aesthetics-only lender, is third with 359.
| Lender | Med spa websites naming it | Share of all 3,777 clinics |
|---|---|---|
| Cherry | 1,470 | 39% |
| CareCredit | 925 | 24% |
| PatientFi | 359 | 10% |
| Alphaeon Credit | 81 | 2% |
| Affirm (alongside a treatment lender or a plan) | 59 | 2% |
| United Medical Credit | 24 | 1% |
| Prosper Healthcare Lending | 22 | 1% |
| Sunbit | 11 | 0% |
Why it matters to you: the products differ. CareCredit is a revolving credit card with deferred-interest promotions, where missing the payoff date means paying interest back to day one. Cherry and PatientFi are installment loans with a fixed number of payments, sometimes at 0% and sometimes not, and the rate depends on your credit. Our guide to how people actually pay for plastic surgery walks through the interest math for both.
Canada is a different market
Only 24.9% of the 321 Canadian med spas we scanned advertise financing, against 57.1% of 3,456 US clinics. The reason is mostly structural: Cherry and CareCredit do not operate in Canada, so a Canadian clinic that wants to offer a plan has to arrange it in-house or through a general consumer lender. Several Canadian cities scored zero. If you are in Canada and want to spread a cost, ask the clinic directly; the website will rarely tell you.
Financing by treatment
Clinics that sell bigger courses are the ones that advertise a way to pay for them. The pattern is clear when you sort by the treatments each clinic offers.
| Treatment | Clinics offering it | Advertise financing |
|---|---|---|
| PDO thread lift | 424 | 80% |
| Sculptra | 527 | 76% |
| Kybella | 683 | 70% |
| CoolSculpting | 638 | 69% |
| Emsculpt NEO | 628 | 69% |
| Semaglutide | 180 | 67% |
| Dysport | 983 | 66% |
| Ultherapy | 246 | 64% |
| Laser tattoo removal | 375 | 64% |
| Morpheus8 | 3,535 | 55% |
| Botox | 3,775 | 54% |
| Laser hair removal | 2,992 | 54% |
| Microneedling | 3,776 | 54% |
| HydraFacial | 3,769 | 54% |
| Dermaplaning | 2,435 | 54% |
| Red light therapy | 241 | 51% |
Read this as a signal, not a promise. A clinic that offers Sculptra is more likely than average to have a plan in place, but the only way to know is to ask before your consultation.
Financing by city
The spread between cities is the widest gap in the data. Among cities where we scanned at least 12 clinics, the share advertising financing runs from 0% to 93%.

Every city page on ClinicCompass now shows its own count and has an “Only clinics with financing” filter, so you can see the clinics behind these numbers in your city.
What “financing available” actually means for you
A financing badge on a clinic website means the clinic has an account with a lender, nothing more. Three things to check before you rely on it:
- Whose credit decision it is. Every lender runs a credit check. Cherry and PatientFi advertise a soft pull to pre-qualify; CareCredit’s application is a hard inquiry. Ask which before you apply.
- Whether the 0% is real. “0% for 6 months” on a credit card usually means deferred interest: pay it off in time and it is free, miss by a day and the full interest is charged from the purchase date. An installment loan at 0% has no such trap, but 0% offers are usually reserved for the strongest credit and the shortest terms.
- What happens if the plan changes. Multi-session treatments like laser hair removal or CoolSculpting are often financed as a package. Confirm the refund terms for unused sessions before you sign, because the loan does not pause if you stop treatment.
Use the data
Clinic cards on ClinicCompass carry a “Financing available” tag when the clinic’s own website says so, clinic pages show it under the contact details, and city pages count it. The figures on this page come from a scan run in September 2026 and will be refreshed as new clinics are added. Researchers and journalists are welcome to cite them with a link to this page.

About half of people on semaglutide get nausea at some point, almost all of it in the first weeks and after dose increases, and most of it manageable. The problem is that nobody explains the pattern, so people quit at week two, right before it settles. Here is the honest version.

Most med spas market on one channel, badly, and blame the channel.
